On July 19, 2026, Hartford Fire & Rescue responded to a residential garage fire on East Monroe Avenue in Hartford, Wisconsin. According to the department’s official press release, a Hartford Police Department officer arrived before fire crews and deployed a Fire Suppression Tool (FST) through an open garage window after learning a vehicle inside the garage may have been on fire.
When Hartford Fire & Rescue arrived, crews encountered heavy black smoke coming from the closed garage. Firefighters quickly initiated an interior fire attack while additional crews established water supply, checked for fire extension into the home, and prepared ventilation operations.
According to Hartford Fire & Rescue, the Fire Suppression Tool deployment helped slow the fire before firefighters entered the structure.
The fire was ultimately extinguished by responding crews, and investigators reported that the fire did not extend into the home. No civilians, firefighters, or EMS personnel were injured during the incident.
